1. Who We Are & Contact Information

Kaffah («كفّة») is a free mobile application for tracking real-time gold prices in Egypt, developed and operated by MSstudio, based in Egypt.

We believe privacy policies should be straightforward and clear rather than buried in legal jargon. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how you can exercise full control over your information.

2. Data We Collect

We collect only the minimum amount of information required to deliver the app's features and maintain its performance:

• Account Data: Email address or phone number when you sign in, securely managed via Google Firebase Authentication to store and sync your gold portfolio across devices.
• Gold Portfolio Holdings: The transactions you enter manually (karat, weight in grams, purchase price paid, and date). This data is linked to your account to calculate portfolio valuation and profit/loss in real time.
• Device Data & App-Usage Events: Device model, operating system, screens visited, and features tapped, collected via Google Firebase Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) App Events SDK to diagnose performance issues and improve user experience.
• Advertising Identifier: Android Advertising ID (AAID) or Apple Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA). On iOS, this identifier is only collected if you grant explicit permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.
• Push Notification Token: Generated via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to deliver price movement alerts, urgent market news, and the daily market brief.
• Anonymous Daily Poll Votes: When you cast a vote in the daily market prediction poll, your vote is recorded alongside a one-way cryptographic hash of a random device identifier. This prevents double voting while ensuring your vote cannot be traced back to your identity or your real device ID.
• Crash & Diagnostic Data: Error logs and performance diagnostics collected via Google Firebase Crashlytics to resolve bugs and keep the app stable.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the collected information strictly for the following purposes:

• Operating the App & Syncing Portfolios: Authenticating your session and synchronizing your gold holdings reliably across your devices.
• AI Gold-Price Predictions: Current market prices and aggregate portfolio metrics are processed via Google Gemini to generate indicative 7-day, 30-day, and 90-day market forecasts (no personal identifiers such as emails or phone numbers are ever transmitted).
• Delivering Notifications: Sending timely price alerts, breaking gold news, and the daily market recap.
• Feature Measurement & App Improvement: Analyzing app usage trends to fix issues and introduce requested features.
• Advertising & Attribution: Serving advertisements through Google AdMob to sustain our free service, and measuring the performance of our promotional campaigns via Meta and Google.

4. Third-Party Services

We work with trusted third-party providers that adhere to industry security and privacy standards:

• Google LLC:
  • Firebase: Authentication, Analytics, Cloud Messaging (FCM), Crashlytics.
  • Google AdMob: Ad serving and measurement.
  • Google Gemini: Artificial intelligence forecasting.

5. Ads & Consent Controls

You have full autonomy over advertising personalization and data sharing:

• Consent Management (Google UMP): Users in regions where prior consent is legally mandated (such as the EEA and UK under GDPR) receive a formal consent dialogue powered by the Google User Messaging Platform before personalized ads are displayed.
• In-App Consent Settings: You can review, modify, or revoke your advertising consent choices at any time directly in the app: Settings → «خصوصية الإعلانات» (Ad Privacy).
• iOS Tracking Controls: iOS users can toggle tracking permissions at any time via system settings: Settings → Kaffah, or under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is stored for as long as your account remains active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated records at any moment:

• Instant In-App Deletion: In the Kaffah app, navigate to Settings → «حذف الحساب» (Delete Account) and confirm. Your account, holdings, and related records will be immediately and irrevocably erased.

7. Children's Privacy

Kaffah is not intended for or directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information without verified parental consent, we will promptly delete that data from our systems.

8. No Sale of Personal Data & Policy Updates

We Never Sell Your Data: We do not sell, rent, lease, or trade personal data to third parties under any circumstances.

Updates to this Policy: We may revise this policy periodically to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory updates. Any changes will be published on this page along with the updated effective date.
